OFA Students Shine in Lake Placid Presentation on Science of Well-Being

Three Ogdensburg Free Academy students, Mia Jeneault, Jenna Pratt, and Urijah Austin, recently took center stage at the 36th Annual Administrators’ Leadership Conference in Lake Placid. The students delivered an inspiring presentation on The Science of Well-Being, a high school elective focused on emotional intelligence, mental health and cultivating happiness.

They were joined by Ms. Brooke Reid, former assistant superintendent, and Mr. Greg Hooper, OFA social worker and instructor of the course. Together, the group shared how the class empowers students with practical tools to manage stress, regulate emotions and take intentional steps toward a more meaningful life.

The Science of Well-Being draws from evidence-based practices in psychology to help students understand how thoughts, behaviors and habits influence overall well-being. Topics include gratitude, mindfulness, goal setting and emotional regulation, skills increasingly recognized as essential for student success both in and out of the classroom.

OFA is proud to lead the way in preparing students not only academically, but emotionally, providing lifelong tools to help them thrive.
